The large deck house contains the control systems for the engine, generator
and inverters as well as the two VHF radios, GPS, Navtex, chart plotter/
Radar, fuel transfer pump and switches to control the pressurised water
system, electric head, nav lights, boiler etc. There is a large chart table,
massive storage and hanging room for wet gear and port and starboard
bench seats for five people with a fold down table attached to the mizzen
mast with is stepped on the deckhouse floor in a massive cast foot. A large
radiator supplies heat. Three electric ceiling lights are controlled by a dimmer
to preserve night vision while working at the chart table on passage. Access
to the main engine is via a large top access hatch and also via two side
hatches and removable companionway steps. Headroom is 7 feet
throughout.
A set of companionway steps down into the interior of the boat lead to the
aft cabin on the port side. This cabin houses a large double bunk with a new
mattress, fitted and upholstered by a local boat upholsterer. There are
several shelves and under bunk storage cupboards, three plug sockets,
good lighting and two portholes. Headroom is 6ft 6inches.
The head/shower has a large shower with mixer valve and powerful shower
head, a full size electric marine head and stainless steel wash basin. There’s
a floor to ceiling ladder radiator and good ventilation via a bronze mushroom
vent. Also housed in the shower room behind a sliding door is a full sized
Miele washer/dryer. Headroom is 6ft 6 inches.
The saloon is separated from the aft cabin and head area by one inch thick
solid wood doors. The saloon table can seat six and has four storage areas
behind panels under the cushions. Various bookshelves and other
cupboards provide more storage. There are numerous lights, dimmer
spotlights and portholes creating a very comfortable living space. A large
butterfly skylight provides tons of light in the daytime. The saloon seating is
all new and beautifully fitted by the same local boat upholsterer. A set of
wooden steps lead up from the saloon through a sliding hatch up to the
deck. Two radiators supply heat. There are ten plug sockets for electrical
devices in the saloon and galley combined. Headroom is 7ft throughout.
The galley has a full sized four burner hob, grill, oven/microwave, twin sinks
with mixer tap, various large drawers, shelves and storage areas for
kitchenware and provisions. There is a built-in full sized fridge, freezer and all
crockery, pans, cutlery, glasses etc for six crew. Headroom is 7ft.
Forward of the saloon, through a massive one inch thick wooden door are
two very large lockers, five feet high and three feet deep with enormous
storage or the possibility of converting one into a second head and the other
into drawers and hanging space. We have always used them for sail bags,
the deflated dinghy, warps, tools etc. Both lockers have electric lights and
two plug sockets built in.
The forward cabin can be used as four single berths or can be converted into
a huge double. All the mattresses and double berth inserts are new and
upholstered to the same design as all the other upholstery on board. There is
another large opening butterfly skylight, several plug sockets, three ceiling
lights, underfloor heating and access to the anchor locker forward which has
more room for storage and also has electric light and a plug socket built in.
